Dr. M'Lou Diezer Bio :

 
M'lou Dietzer holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Southern California, with secondary specialization in Music Analysis and Counterpoint. In 1992 she became a Professor Emeritus at California State University at Fullerton, where she had been on the piano faculty since 1970, serving as coordinator of keyboard studies. She received a CSUF Meritorious Performance and Professional Promise Award in 1987 and took full retirement from CSUF in 1997.
 
Dr. Dietzer has performed extensively in solo recitals, chamber music ensembles and as an orchestral soloist. She serves as adjudicator, clinician and masterclass teacher for various musical organizations throughout Southern California.
 

Active in the Music Teachers Association of California for many years, Dr. Dietzer served on the state board for two terms and was chair of numerous state programs. In 1974 she organized and became the first president of the Orange Coast Cities branch. From 1978-1994 she was General Piano Editor for the MTAC's California Music Teacher Magazine and has written numerous articles for this and other periodicals. Dr. Dietzer is the author of First Impressions, an intermediate-level piano method that includes music, study guides and theory, as well as Discovering Piano Literature, a new series of intermediate piano music from Alfred.
